Councillor Bailão Motion on the Carpenters Union Donation to Eva's Phoenix

October 15, 2015

To: Community Development and Recreation Committee Members

From: Councillor Ana Bailão

Re: Carpenters Union Local 27 Donation to Eva's Phoenix

The Carpenters Union Local 27 donated $100,000 to Eva's Phoenix Rising capital campaign this morning. This donation will help build and name one of ten town-home style residences at Eva's Phoenix. At Eva's Phoenix, fifty homeless youth at a time will live for up to a year while they transition from a life on the street, to a life of independence, dignity, and opportunity.

Eva's Phoenix provides homeless youth with leading-edge services and distinctive programming in independent living and employment training so that they can find and maintain jobs and permanent housing, reach their potential and begin productive, self-sufficient and healthy lives.

That the Community Development and Recreation Committee express it's appreciation and thanks to the Carpenters Union Local 27 for their $100,000 donation to the Eva's Phoenix Rising capital campaign.
