Timberfever at Ryerson this Weekend

The 2017 session of Timberfever held this coming weekend (September 23-24) at Ryerson University. It's a great collaboration of Construction industry stakeholders and a great competition between students of many Ontario post secondary institutions.

Always a lot of fun in a safe but challenging design / Construction competition.  Hope that you are able to drop by and promote within your respective organizations.

Cross disciplinary 36 hour design-build competition fosters
design, construction and communication beyond the classroom

TORONTO, September 20th, 2016 - This weekend, Ryerson’s Department of Architectural Science, in partnership with Moses Structural Engineers, will host TimberFever – an intense design and construction competition. Based on a reality television model, students will have just 36 hours to build a wooden structure based on an assigned design challenge–from the time they receive their mission until completion.

TimberFever, which has doubled in size from previous years, will now include students from University of Toronto, Carleton, Laurentian, Queen’s, Waterloo and Ryerson.  Every team includes both Architectural Science and Civil Engineering students and will be mentored by practicing architects, engineers and representatives from the Carpenters’ District Council of Ontario
The general public is invited to watch the final build take place on Ryerson’s Gould Street on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m. The public can also vote alone for the People’s Choice Award at www.timberfever.com

Video, photo and interview opportunities are available for media.
